Bolivian Workers Clash with Morales Government

In Bolivia, members of the Confederation of Factory Workers, teachers, health care workers, university students and others took to the streets to reject the 5% cap on pay increases imposed by the government of Evo Morales’s MAS party as insufficient (5% is below inflation) and to demand the resignation of the Minister of Labour. They were repressed, and some 15 workers have been arrested.

An English translation of an article in the Bolivian paper La Razon has been published on MRZine.

Another report appears in the Latin American Herald Tribune.
