Even those in Ontario who voted for Mike Harris were under the impression he wouldn't touch health care (isn't that what he said?). ÿþ<brÿþ>ÿþ<brÿþ>ÿþ But maybe we actually did vote for this shit and were just confused where the ballot box was. With a Coca Cola in your left you mark the ballot with your right, when objectively you marked the ballot when you bought the drink and you just finished drawing a cute little picture with your right. Misleading? Yes. This is why the social situation has become a cul-de-sac. ÿþ<brÿþ>ÿþ<brÿþ>ÿþ Believing in politicians and our post-democratic government is like believing TV is true. Even though there is a possibility that the Smurfs actually do exist, my cerebellum tells me that someone else is behind Gargamel, a creator, a puppeteer. This is my theory: Mike Harris is a smelly sock puppet. ÿþ<brÿþ>ÿþ<brÿþ>ÿþ And so the sock puppet does something really smelly and so we yell and scream at it in rage until we lose our voices. And so we are mute. The sock puppet all the while smiles that felt-penned sock puppet smile. The puppeteer is safely hidden behind the decoy. And so business goes on as usual. Who is the enigmatic Geppetto? Steven Segal, Homer Simpson, OJ Simpson, TV, my mom or a death squad of business leaders who'll not stop at social issues while the business tank (a.k.a. business cycle) steamrolls over everything. ÿþ<iÿþ>ÿþBetter enjoy that Coke because we're all paying for it.ÿþ</i>ÿþ ÿþ<brÿþ>ÿþ<brÿþ>ÿþ Here is a list of puppeteers: GE, Banks, Oil Companies. In coming issues I'll give the gory details on how much (money and otherwise) we're actually paying. ÿþ<brÿþ>ÿþ<brÿþ>ÿþ ÿþ<fontÿþ ÿþsize="1"ÿþ>ÿþWatch forthcoming issues of New Socialist for Eric Sauvé's articles on corporate power in Canada.ÿþ</font>ÿþ</font>ÿþ<brÿþ>ÿþ<brÿþ>ÿþ ÿþ<formÿþ>ÿþ<inputÿþ ÿþtype="button"ÿþ ÿþvalue="Close"ÿþ ÿþonclick="top.close()"ÿþ>ÿþ</form>ÿþ ÿþ</body>ÿþ ÿþ</html>ÿþ<!-- FILE ARCHIVED ON ÿþ00:56:58 Oct 09, 2007ÿþ AND RETRIEVED FROM THE INTERNET ARCHIVE ON ÿþ06:04:06 Mar 05, 2026ÿþ.
